Delicious Food and Friendly Vibes!
We savored the unique 'Jospered' style for dinner. it was a culinary delight! The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made our stay enjoyable, even if the room temperature was a bit warm. Don't miss indulging in their fantastic wine selection.

The outdoor courtyard setup works well for casual gatherings, especially with the heaters keeping things cozy despite the rain. Food quality shines through with well-prepared dishes. the detail in presentation and use of fresh ingredients stands out, making for a delightful meal experience.
The so-called luxury room felt dated, capturing more of an old-school boarding house vibe rather than the upscale experience expected from a five-star rating. During my stay, I found cobwebs in multiple corners and marks on the sheets, which were less than appealing. The air conditioning unit blasted out hot air rather than cooling, making the room uncomfortably warm, while the wifi required numerous attempts to connect. Plus, the limited breakfast selection left much to be desired. the cooked options didn’t meet the expectations set by the hotel's luxury claim.

perfectly placed for exploring charming landmarks and parks
I enjoyed my two-day weekend stay at a great spot in a pretty village, with friendly staff and superb meals for both dinner and breakfast that perfectly set me up for exploring nearby attractions like the Sherborne Old Castle just a short walk away and the Holway Woods Nature Reserve only a little further, providing gorgeous views and walks that really delighted my senses. The room was tasteful and comfy, although I wished for softer lighting in the bar for a cozier atmosphere.

The room was super comfy with a massive shower, and breakfast was a real treat! I loved unwinding in the sun terrace after a long day. Just a heads-up, the wifi was a bit spotty at times, but it didn’t ruin my stay. 😊

Lovely location and staff
We had a fab 2-night stay! The room was decent, but the black throw needs replacing, definitely. The wet room was really nice and the shower was spot on. Breakfast was delish, just a shame the toast never showed up. They’ve got a cool bar area too! It felt pricy, though, not sure if it's just the time of year.

Oh, what a treat! The stewed partridge left me dreaming, and the scotch egg? Pure magic! Plus, the staff were an absolute delight, making every moment feel special. Breakfast was a proper feast too!
A cheeky niggle was finding the car park entrance in the dark, and I missed having a dog-friendly room. But let’s face it, everything else just sparkled!

The atmosphere at this pub is charming, with lovely decor and a cozy feel. While the food, including the steak and burger, was fantastic, the service was a bit lacking at times. a pleasant experience but room for improvement.

Charming outdoor seating, Unique local events participation, Artisan cocktails
Room amenities could be greatly improved!!! It felt more like a dated boarding house than a luxury stay, and noise from lively patrons lingered well into the night!!!

great walks to landmarks and parks nearby
I enjoyed my stay, as the room was immaculate and the breakfast menu was excellent, with a delightful Full English that really set me up for a day of strolling the beautiful village and nearby attractions. I was also thrilled to discover that the Sherborne Steam and Waterwheel Centre is less than 7 km away and perfect for a lovely afternoon walk to see the historical workings of steam power.
